Your First Visit to Our Ahwatukee Practice:
Consultation and Exam

Your first visit will allow us to gather as much relevant information about you as we can in order to determine how we can best serve you. This visit will take approximately 40 minutes, so please allow enough time.
We also ask that you dress comfortably for the examination, please do not wear short skirts or tight clothing. If you have them, please bring a copy of any past CTs, MRIs, x-rays or other relevant test results and reports.
Our initial visit begins with you filling out some necessary paperwork. These initial forms provide us with essential information about you, your condition, and your health history.
Following the paperwork, you will meet Dr. Winton, to discuss the relevant details of your health. In order for us to gather a complete picture we may ask questions regarding previous injuries, ergonomics, hobbies and activities, medication usage, quality of sleep, diet, repetitive stressors, etc.
If we feel that your problem is outside of our expertise we will let you know. Following our consultation, we will then begin our exam.
During your examination, Dr. Winton will watch for restriction in movement, pain, muscle spasm, heat and swelling. If these issues exist, she can locate which vertebra are involved and where the nerves are being pinched. These areas are called "subluxations."
Keep in mind that some of the tests may reproduce your symptoms and some may also provide relief. We will also ask questions and use procedures to rule out serious disease and pathologies that may need to be treated elsewhere.
X-rays are typically needed to assess and diagnose certain conditions. If Dr. Winton feels they are warranted in your case, we we will explain where to get them done in the quickest way possible. They are usually covered by health insurance or cash discounts are available.
